Tudor Living - The Family's Private Rooms

At the west end of the house were two private family living rooms. The bigger was known as the great parlour. It is more comfortable than the great hall. The family used it to sit in during the day and in the evening ate their supper and relaxed by the fire for a few hours until bedtime.

The great parlour

The little parlour was next to the great parlour. It was smaller and cosier. The entrance to the room was from the great parlour which meant that it was very private. The curtain hangings were not as expensive as the painted cloth in the next door room.
