Teaching Sessions for non-Birmingham Schools
Non-Birmingham schools are taught by the NEW Schools Support Officer. The new Schools Support Officer is pleased to offer a number of new sessions based around object handling and historical enquiry for Key Stage one and two children. Sessions are free of charge and relate to different aspects of the primary curriculum. Some of the sessions available are:

  • Victorian Birmingham: Children explore what life might have been like for rich and poor people living in Victorian Birmingham.
  • The Children’s War: The session looks at the effects of the war on the everyday life of children, with particular focus on Birmingham.
  • Ancient Egypt: This is an evidence based handling session during which all children will get the chance to explore genuine Egyptian artefacts.
  • Exploring Myths in Art: This session combines History, Art, English and Drama to produce an enthralling journey through the galleries looking at myths in art.
