1. How many loans boxes can I borrow at a time?
You can borrow a maximum of four loans boxes per school, per half term. If more than one teacher from the same school requests loan boxes of the same theme, we ask you to share.
2. How long can I borrow a loans box for?
Loans boxes are borrowed half termly and so the loan period is approximately four weeks.
3. Do you charge?
No, the service is FREE!
4. How far in advance can I book?
You can book from August onwards for the whole academic year.
5. How do I book?

You can book a loan by downloading a loans request form or completing it online

6. Where do I come to collect and return the boxes?
You will collect and return your loans to the Museum Collections Centre where the Schools Loans Collection is stored. For directions please go to the ' How to find us ' page.
7. When can I come to collect the boxes?
Collection days are Monday to Thursday between 3.00pm and 5.00pm, usually the first week of term (except for January and September). Your collection date will be indicated on your loan booking confimation slip.
8. When do I need to return the boxes?
Approximately four weeks later, you will receive a confirmation slip which will give you the exact date of return.
9. Do you deliver the loans?
Yes, we deliver to Birmingham LEA schools for a small charge.
10. Do you have parking?

11. Do we have to be a Birmingham School to use the service?
No, the loan service is open to all schools however priority will be given to those from the Birmingham LEA.
12. What happens if something gets broken?
The teacher who orders the loans is responsible for looking after them. Most of them are irreplaceable and should be treated with respect. Please keep them in a secure place in school, especially overnight. If any loss or damage occurs, please inform Schools Liaison at once. Do not attempt repairs. Any damage to costumes and artefacts will be charged to the school concerned, so that we can purchase replacements.
