A Weir

This weir was built for several
reasons:
1. People can cross over the
river here.
2. It slows down the water and
reduces erosion.
3. The turbulence in the water
created by the water crashing
down into the plunge pool behind
the weir increases the amount
of oxygen in the water which
is good for the fish and other
animals that live in the river.
