Weoley castle offers
the opportunity to study the ruins
of a fortified manor house in a
safe outdoors environment.
Our
FREE site and outreach sessions,
led by the on-site Schools and
Community Officer, have close links
with the National Curriculum across
a wide range of areas for KS1 – 3
and include artefact handling and
use of other primary sources, including
local maps. Subjects covered include
History, Art and Design and Geography,
with links to topics such as Houses
and Homes at KS1, Local History
at KS2 and Medieval Realms and
KS3. Cross-curricular options are
also available and special resources
have been developed which can be
adapted to the specific needs of
your class.
As a special feature
of the service, we are also able
to offer programmes of study which
include complementary in-school
sessions. All resources are supplied
and can be adapted for the particular
needs of your class.
