The Fireplace is in the kitchen at Aston Hall. In Sir Thomas Holte's time, Meat was cooked in front of a fire. It was cooked evenly by turning it around. Instead of using a kitchen boy to do this, a special machine called a turbine was fitted in the chimney. When the hot air from the fire rose up the chimney, it turned the turbine round which turned the spit.
