These pulleys are made out of a hard wood called oak. These are driving pulleys because they are there to turn something else. When the shaft turns round, these pulleys turn and take the energy to the driven pulley that is fixed to the spit. Chains are being used as drive belts. You can use leather or rubber to make a drive belt - any flexible material will do |
