A stone keep
A lord lived
in this strong home 900 years ago. Soldiers lived here too
to protect the lord. Wooden steps led to the door. They were pulled
away if enemies attacked so they could not get in. The lord
and lady,and their children, lived in the top rooms.
Food and drink were kept in the bottom rooms. The kitchens
were here too.
