What we can offer...
|
Aston
Hall offers an award winning service to schools. Free half-day sessions
include workshops and activities for all age ranges and abilities. The wide
range of sessions available are closely tied to National Curriculum programmes
of study and QCA recommendations in History, Numeracy, Literacy, Science,
Geography, Creativity - Design and Technology, Art, Music and Drama.
Aston
Hall's colourful and varied history lends itself to a variety of tableaux,
role play and re-enactments. The visit of Charles I and the Parliamentarian
attack are investigated by all key stages. Local History is further explored
in the celebration of Queen Victoria's visit to open Aston Hall as a museum.
An
extensive collection of costume, handling artefacts is used in tableaux,
role play and other activities, and a range of other resources support hands
on investigations and practical work in science and technology.
Aston
Hall has two well-equipped study bases, with a wide variety of resources
and classroom equipment including a recently acquired touch screen interactive
whiteboard running bespoke History, Literacy and Numeracy software.
Booked
schools can be accommodated to eat their own packed lunches. In good weather
schools are very welcome to picnic in the surrounding park. The shop is
available to schools outside opening times. |
