A photograph of Blakesley Hall before the work to improve the site began. Look to the left of the building and you can see the roof of the old people's home named 'Blackleigh Court'.

When the house was built all of the ground floor had close upright timber framing. Now, to the right and far left of the Hall, a brick covering has been added and then whitewashed over. The patterns that remain show: close studding, on the ground floor; herring bone on the first floor; and quadrant bracing on the second floor.
