There is a lot we don't know about Weoley Castle. This picture is a 'best guess' as to how it could have looked. Features like the well are easily identified. Ovens and hearths are evidence of bakehouse and kitchen. But it is not so easy to tell what some buildings were used for.There was certainly an outer bailey beyond the drawbridge. It is not clear how (or if) the walls joined the current castle ruins. |
