The Bourn Brook is the stream flowing through Woodgate Valley. The stream water flows downhill, due to gravity. It can be followed from the top of the valley (near the visitor centre), down Watery Lane, then along the flood plain at the bottom of the valley.
Can you follow the route of the stream on the map?

The source of a stream is where it starts from. The source of the Bourn Brook is the ground near the motorway/expressway and it can first be seen coming out from a pipe at the top of Watery Lane.
Can you see where the source will be on the map?

Where two streams join together, the smaller one is called the tributary.
