A woodland is a large habitat made of lots of trees and bushes. Within the woodland are smaller mini habitats, like one tree or a bush. There are even smaller micro habitats - a log, or under a stone. |
|
At Woodgate Valley there are old woods, dominated by oak trees. There are also old and newly planted hedgerows. These are lines of trees and bushes by the side of a path or field. There are some areas which have recently been planted with smaller, young trees. These are called tree plantations. |
